The company is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer for a Remote position to help build verifiable AI systems that will significantly enhance semiconductor and photonic hardware development. This role is crucial in translating complex customer challenges in photonics into actionable AI solutions, contributing to a mission of achieving a 30x improvement by 2030.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with customer R&D teams to understand and address complex technical challenges in photonics.
- Develop and deploy AI solutions tailored to customer needs, ensuring alignment with product roadmap objectives.
- Utilize Python for scientific computing to create prototypes and systems that leverage modern AI tools, including LLMs and orchestration frameworks.
- Act as a trusted technical partner, providing consultative support and translating customer feedback into product enhancements.
- Maintain high ownership and credibility while adapting to the fast-paced environment of AI and hardware integration.
What You Bring
- An MSc or PhD in a hard science or engineering field such as photonics, applied physics, or electrical engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of post-academic experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI, or Solutions Engineering.
- Proficiency in Python for scientific computing and hands-on experience with modern AI tools, particularly LLMs and orchestration frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and leadership audiences.
- A problem-solving mindset, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and practical engineering skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic, or Ray.
- Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) environments or hardware-software co-design.
- Experience in Cloud/HPC deployment.
- A background in collaborating with R&D or applied science teams.
