Ana M.

Ana Maria G., Ph.D., is a distinguished high-level scientist and Professor in the Department of Natural Sciences at Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Argentina. Currently directing the Ecotoxicology Laboratory, her research spans over two decades, focusing on ecotoxicological studies in continental aquatic systems. Dr. G. specializes in analyzing the impacts of pesticides, heavy metals, and emerging contaminants such as antibiotics and graphene oxide on non-target organisms. She utilizes bioindicators and biomarkers for these assessments. With an academic background that includes a Master’s in Ecology from Universidad de Chile and a Ph.D. in Biology, her scholarly activity is extensive, including directing multiple doctoral theses and participating in over 50 research projects. Her research contributions are encapsulated in 80 international journal articles, 18 book chapters, and participation in more than 200 conferences. Dr. G. has also been actively involved in bioremediation strategies using microalgae and collaborates on projects with the Argentine government related to pesticide monitoring.
