Kayla M. is a licensed Medical Technologist and Drug Test Analyst with a PRC license and extensive experience in clinical laboratory settings, currently employed full-time at Lab1 Medical and Diagnostic Center in Olongapo City, Zambales since January 2026. With a strong background in accurate diagnostic testing and laboratory maintenance, she performs essential tasks such as newborn screening, blood sample collection, and arterial blood gas collection under physician supervision. Throughout her career, she has honed her skills in phlebotomy and specimen handling, acquiring proficiency in operating a variety of laboratory machines including the Sysmex XN Series for hematology and Bactec and Vitek systems for bacteriology. In addition to her practical skills, she has participated in significant seminars and training sessions, including a Genomic Webinar on “One Health in the Era of Omics” and raising standards of laboratory safety through external quality assurance. Her internship experiences across multiple medical centers in Mindanao have equipped her with expertise in routine and specialized laboratory procedures, ensuring comprehensive quality assurance and control.
