Saima A.

Saima A. is a dedicated professional in the field of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) with extensive experience working with the disabled community. Currently serving as the CEO of the Able Plus Research Center (ApRec) since 2020, she has led initiatives for inclusive WASH services, collaborating with the Islamic Development Bank and the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex. In 2021, ApRec secured a Research and Learning partnership with Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) in Pakistan. Saima has actively represented individuals with disabilities at key international WASH forums, including the 2022 Sector Ministers’ Meeting in Jakarta and the 2019 International Conference on WASH & Sanitation in Costa Rica. Her consultancy work includes significant impact on projects like the Lahore Water and Wastewater Management Project and initiatives within the Punjab government's education policy for students with disabilities. Saima also contributes academically with publications on temporary sanitation solutions and barriers in inclusive education in Pakistan. Her skills encompass technical report writing, statistical analysis using SPSS, and funding proposal drafting. Saima possesses a Master's in English Literature from Islamia University, Bahawalpur, and an MBA in Management from the University of Management and Technology, Lahore.
