Graphic Designer – Long-Term Remote Role | 30–40 Hours per Week
$8.50 USD/hour | Usually 30 paid hours per week | Up to 40 paid hours during busy periods
We’re a growing UK-based training and development business looking for one talented graphic designer to work with us on a long-term basis.
This is not a one-off project. We have a significant and consistent volume of design work and want someone who can get to know our business, understand what good looks like for us and become a genuine part of our extended team.
We are looking for an individual, not an agency. Please do not apply if you are an agency or intend to outsource the work.
What you’ll be doing
Our design requirements are varied and include:
- Social media graphics
- Brochures, PDFs and programme materials
- Presentation decks
- Website and digital assets
- Workbooks and learning materials
- Event and promotional materials
- Infographics and diagrams
- Email graphics
- Photo editing
- Templates
- Occasional print-ready artwork
We’re looking for someone with a genuinely strong eye for design, not somebody who simply puts content into templates.
You should understand typography, layout, hierarchy, spacing and imagery and be able to take a rough brief and turn it into something that looks professional without needing every detail explained to you.
Pace is important
We are a fast-moving business and produce a lot of content.
We need someone who can work quickly without compromising quality or attention to detail. Priorities sometimes change, amendments may need to be turned around quickly and straightforward pieces of work shouldn’t take days to complete.
You’ll need to be organised, responsive and comfortable managing several pieces of work at once.
Hours
There will usually be around 30 paid hours of work each week.
During busy periods, we may need up to 40 paid hours in a week. All additional hours are paid at the same hourly rate.
We’re therefore looking for somebody who has the capacity to make us a priority and can flex their hours when required.
Some regular crossover with UK working hours will be important.
What we’re looking for
You should have:
- A strong portfolio of work you have personally created
- Excellent graphic design skills
- Experience with professional design software
- Good Canva skills
- Experience across digital and ideally print design
- Strong attention to detail
- Good written English
- The ability to interpret a brief rather than simply follow instructions
- The confidence to suggest creative ideas
- The ability to work at pace
- Reliability and responsiveness
- Availability for around 30 hours every week, with flexibility to increase to 40 hours when required
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone interested in a long-term working relationship, not someone looking to fit a few hours around a large number of other clients.
When applying
Please include:
- A link to your portfolio.
- Three examples of work you personally created that best demonstrate your ability.
- The software you use.
- Your timezone and usual working hours.
- How many hours you currently work for other clients each week.
- Confirmation that you can commit around 30 hours per week and increase to 40 paid hours when required.

When you’re given a rough brief rather than a finished design concept, how do you decide what the finished piece should look like?
Start your proposal with I READ THE BRIEF so we know you’ve read the full post.
We will shortlist a small number of designers and invite them to complete a paid design task before making our final decision.
Individuals only. No agencies.
