WAGE / SALARY: $900-1,200
We're looking for someone who wants to become the person an owner can trust to run the office.
Catchy Pest Control is a growing pest control company in New York, and we're hiring our first dedicated office team member.
The right person will eventually own most of the day-to-day office operation: taking care of customers, managing the schedule, keeping technicians organized, following up on payments and leads, and making sure things don't fall through the cracks. You'll work directly with the owner and learn how the entire business operates. We're much more interested in finding someone who is sharp, dependable, organized, great with people, and learns quickly than someone who checks every technical box on day one.
If you're the type of person who naturally takes ownership and figures things out, keep reading.
THE JOB
You'll become the main point person for the day-to-day office side of the business.
You'll own things like:
- Answering customer calls, texts, and emails
- Handling customer questions, concerns, and service issues
- Scheduling and rescheduling services
- Coordinating technician schedules and routes
- Following up with leads and prospective customers
- Following up on failed and overdue payments
- Helping customers with billing questions
- Keeping customer accounts, notes, and records accurate
- Making sure follow-ups and important tasks don't get missed
- Helping with customer retention and review requests
- Keeping company systems and information organized
- Taking on additional office responsibilities as you learn the business
The goal isn't for you to stay an assistant forever.
The goal is for you to learn the business well enough that the owner can increasingly hand you
responsibilities and trust that they're handled.
YOU
You'll probably be a great fit if:
- You speak and write excellent English
- You're confident and professional on the phone
- You're extremely organized
- You're tech-savvy and learn new software quickly
- You take ownership without needing constant follow-up
- You notice when something is wrong and try to solve it
- You're comfortable juggling multiple priorities
- You're comfortable working with numbers and basic financial information
- You communicate quickly and clearly
- You're dependable -if you say you'll do something, it gets done
- You enjoy creating order and keeping things organized
- You want a long-term position where you can earn more responsibility over time
We're looking for someone who can eventually hear: "Can you handle this?" ...and make the owner's life easier from there.
EXPERIENCE
You should have previous experience in customer service, office administration, operations, or a similar role.
Experience with any of the following is a bonus:
- Bookkeeping or transaction categorization
- QuickBooks / QuickBooks Online
- Pest control or another home-service business
- Dispatching or route scheduling
- Accounts receivable / collections
- FieldRoutes
- Customer retention
- Sales follow-up
- Working directly with a small-business owner
THE DEAL
- Full-time
- Remote
- Must be available during 9:00am-5pm (EST) business hours
- 900–1,200 USD/month depending on experience
- Performance bonuses
- Paid training
- Long-term position
- Opportunity for increased responsibility and compensation as the company grows
You'll also need reliable high-speed internet, a dependable computer with webcam, and a quiet place to take customer calls.
WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY IS DIFFERENT
You'll work directly with the owner, learn how the company works, and have the opportunity to
become a major part of the business as it grows.
For the right person, this can become much more than a typical VA position.
We care less about having the perfect resume and more about finding someone who is smart,
reliable, coachable, and takes ownership.
