As a VMware Cloud Director (VCD) Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our VMware-based cloud environment. This Remote position requires you to provide expert infrastructure support during EST business hours, ensuring seamless operations and outstanding service delivery.
A Day in the Life
Your day will start with monitoring the VMware Cloud Director (VCD) environments, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally. You’ll dive into troubleshooting any issues that arise, leveraging your strong skills in NSX-T networking to support virtual networks, edge gateways, and firewall rules. Throughout the day, you'll manage vSphere and ESXi operations, handling tasks like VM provisioning, snapshots, and migrations. You will also engage with the team during daily stand-ups and sync calls, where you’ll report on ticket resolutions and collaborate on ongoing projects. Your commitment to maintaining documentation and incident reports will be vital for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
What You Need
- Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Director (VCD / vCloud Director) is essential
- Strong administration skills in VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter
- Proficiency in NSX-T or NSX-V for network virtualization and logical switching/routing
- Solid experience in Linux/Windows OS administration and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Reliable internet connection and readiness to work during EST hours consistently
